This short film shares the story of Layla Black on her path to reclaim her Mohawk identity. As a generational survivor of residential schools, they took her culture from her, but watch her story as she takes it back. And it all started with the water.
It's estimated that over 150,000 Indigenous children attended residential schools in Canada. This film discovers not only the direct impact of this dark part of Canadian history, but also the current long term generational effects as so many Indigenous youth struggle to reclaim their cultural identity.
